Abstract :
|
The aim of this research was the isolation and characterization of lipase producing microbial strains from mustard oil mills soil. 15 bacterial strains were isolated and out of which 4 were used for further study. Microorganisms were grown on tributyrin agar medium and screening was done on media containing Tween-80. The identification of the bacteria was carried out by gram staining, performing biochemical tests and by 16S rRNA sequencing. The strain L-05 was identified as Bacillus megaterium. Oil (mustard) contaminated soil is found to be the best source for the isolation of lipase producing bacteria.
