Ultrasonic velocity (u) and densities (?) of aqueous solutions of potassium citrate (K3C6H5O7.H2O), ammonium acetate (CH3COONH4), ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (NH4H2PO4), potassium thiocyanate (KSCN) and potassium oxalate [(COOK)2.H2O)] have been measured in the concentration range between 0.01562 mol dm-3 to 0.5 mol dm-3 at 298.15K. These measurements have been made at fixed concentration i.e. 0.02 g cm-3 of BSA at different concentrations of salts. The isentropic compressibility (Ks) for various solutions was calculated by using the equation . The viscosity contribution ( ?) due to BSA in various salt solutions as well as in pure water have been calculated at different concentration of protein and plotted against BSA concentration (C). The results obtained show that BSA interacts strongly with all salts and potassium oxalate denaturate or dissociate the protein while other salts have stabilizing effect.
